Bytec Tablet Uses

Bytec tablet is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms. It is used to treat allergic rhinitis, allergy-induced asthma, and to decrease hives and pruritus.

Allergies are a common problem. Its symptoms are a runny nose, itchy eyes, cough, and sometimes it can cause difficulty breathing. You cannot sleep well with allergies. And it can affect your life hastily. Therefore your healthcare providers will prescribe you a medication called Bytec that helps control the allergy symptoms.

Bytec is Cetirizine; a second-generation, non-sedating, anti-allergic drug. It works by stopping the production of allergy mediators.

The risks and warnings associated with Bytec are:

1. Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, do not take Bytec unless your doctor advises. It can affect the functioning of your baby’s health. Breastfeeding mothers should also consult with a healthcare provider before taking it.

2. Allergy or Hypersensitivity

If you are allergic to Cetirizine, do not take Bytec or any other medicine with the same generic name because it can result in a life-threatening condition called anaphylactic shock. Always inform your healthcare provider about the documented allergies you have.

Anaphylactic shock is a rare but severe allergic reaction that if not treated at the right time, can be life-threatening. It shows the signs and symptoms such as hives, pale skin, labored breathing, itching, excessive salivation, feeling too warm, a weak and rapid pulse, nausea, vomiting, runny nose, sneezing, swollen lips and tongue, wheezing, dizziness, low blood pressure, and tingling hands, feet, mouth, or scalp.

3. Asthma

In most cases, if asthma is caused by an allergy, the doctors prescribe an anti-allergy medication. But sometimes, they may thicken the bronchial secretions, resulting in worsening asthma. Therefore you must exercise caution while taking desloratadine with asthma. Take it on the advice of your healthcare provider.

4. Kidney failure

How to use Bytec Tablet 10mg?

• Bytec tablet can be taken with our without food
• Do not crush or chew the tablet
• The recommended dosage of Bytec is one 10mg tablet a day for adults and children aged 12 years and older
• Follow the dosage and frequency as advised by your doctor

• Do not use it after the expiry date
